This symbol, the Cosmic Egg, another version of the Cosmic-Spiral symbolizes Goddess of birth and fertility. The internal symbol, the double spiral is positioned inside the double square (universe) represents the two halves of the spherical vortex, or of Plato's "androgynous spherical man"; it is both primordial and final. It signifies the speed of prosperity. This symbol has frequently been found in Egyptian and Mesopotamian hieroglyphics, an ideogram known as Mesdhent, birth, fertile ground, and abundance. It also has been found in Greek and Ionic columns, Temple of the Erechtheum, the Athenian Acropolis which represents prosperity, Divine protection, and maintenance, a vessel to contain or receive.
The prime function of this symbol is the establishment of the initiatory process, which is similar to the process of originating an embryo in the mother's womb; intending to produce a perfect child. When planting the seeds of desires in the Divine embryo of a prolific soil to be nurtured and cared for, the final enactment is clear; one sees the manifestation of the golden child. It is a significant process, whereby the formation of the geometric system will be transformed into the substantial configuration. Furthermore, this process will be transferred into the final stage of delivery of the matrix of your heart's desires into physical reality, which will be responsible, by the final symbol, Cosmic Infinity.
The symbolic aspect of the Cosmic Egg in Alchemy depicts in such a way, out of the egg grows the white flower (silver), the red flower (gold), and the blue flower, (the flower of the wise). The egg is also the sealed hermetic vase (Alchemical container) in which the Great Work is a consummately physical, mystical, and morally significant transformation-the philosopher's stone is the symbol of creation.
