Prayer is indispensable to the work of Alchemy and this characteristic distinguishes Alchemy from purely physical science. The aim of Alchemy is always to solemnly enlighten in a spiritual sense, aiming for monumental transformation, transcendentally divine state of being. Alchemists lived by the principles of simplicity and solitude: observing the self and the natural world where the beauty of nature is transformed into a gold-like state of perfection, the gold of longevity, inner power of potential, the strength of character. They practiced humility, respect, generosity, and kindness, seeking inner truth instead of rigidly, following the rules of conduct. It is the divine totality, "absolute pure metal." These are the core Alchemist virtues. Thus, prayer is an integrating power and spiritual unification, an essential part of human life since it magnifies human purposes. Practicing combined prayer and perennial wisdom heightens the sensibility within, show us our place in the cosmos, and teaches us how to become explorers.
