Chapter 7: Tour

The animated bathtub lands just in front of the gate that separates St Joules from a collection of tall merging architecture that almost resembles a manor behind the gate.

The architecture's ginormous size and its intricate design around the theme of the sun and moon fascinated Randell, looking at the academy in awe within the animated bathtub.

“ Welcome to Nightfall Academy, make sure that you won't get lost in there. “

Amori said before jumping out of the animated bathtub, followed by Randell and Mhyv as he took the time to stretch before snapping his fingers. Causing the bathtub behind them to dissipate into lightish pink mana before flowing towards his arms.

Randell walked closer to the open gate, observing every bit of the academy grounds with wide curious eyes.

“ Alright, since we can't exactly cover every single part of the academy, I figured that we should at least cover the places that you're interested in.

So where would it be? “

Amori leans to Randell's shoulder waiting for his response.

‘ Where do I want to go?

Hmmm… ‘

“ Well I'm curious about the academy’s workshop so- “

“ Sorry, the workshops are off limits until classes start. “

“ Oh.

…Well how about the dorm of the Suite of Sorcerers? “

“ Okay that we could do.

Come on in~ “

Amori suggested Randell to follow behind him, leading them to enter the gate and eventually inside the academy.

The interior was even more massive than the outside, with more details featuring the sun and moon but in different cycles being dominant within the decorative walls, carpets, and mural art featured in the ceiling.

The windows were massive, covering most of the walls and letting sunlight illuminate the space and letting a clear, better view from the outside.

A few beastkins do wander around the academy but he notices that most of them are wearing casual clothing.

“ Strange… Is uniform not mandatory in this academy? “

“ Randell it's an academy, of course we don't wear uniforms. “

“ Wait, so does this mean I can wear whatever I want!? “

“ I mean yeah sure…

As long as it isn't some sort of clown costume.

You also need to wear a charm pin with you once your fully enrolled “

“ Charm pin? “

“ Yeah, Nightfall Students are given charm pins to represent the suite they manage to be sorted in.

It's pretty mandatory to wear while you're inside the academy. “

“ But I don't see anyone wearing any charm pins? “

“ It's because class hasn't started yet, beside's I don't really like having something pinned on my clothes. “

“ I see…

I'm curious about your dorm.

Is it true that you have a bathroom, separate bedroom, living room, and even a TV!? “

“ Of course we have them! Well except for the TV part that part's on you “

“ Does it even have a kitchen? “

Mhyv asks beside Randell's shoulder.

“ No they probably don't have them since I heard that this academy has a mess hall “

“ MESS HALL!!!

Can we go there next after your dorm!? “

“ Fine, but I'm not buying you anything if they have the food that you like. “

“ You're really talking to that imaginary friend of yours huh… “

It took them a while to reach the entrance of Amori's dorm, even taking a few detours around the hall until they eventually reached a large open door made of silver and carved with mist-like curved and intricate depiction of moon phases.

Inside the dorm is structured to be a tower, featuring nine floors and spiraling stairs, with each floor possessing four large entrances that have multiple doors inside and purplish glass-like lanterns apparent between these entrances.

At the center of the dorm lies a wide circular coach surrounding a wooden table, where most beastkin usually sit, talk, or leave to move in one of the floors. The top of the dorm was a skylight made of purple acrylic glass, that depicts a large six pointed star in front of two small crescent moons facing away at a small circular moon.

With the sunlight passing through this purplish acrylic skylight its light purple atmosphere.

Amori guides Randell to the top of the dorm, walking up to the stairs in a curve while letting him be familiar with the place and the other beastkins who passes them.

“ So what do you think~ “

“ This place is beautiful… “

“ Hehe, I know~

This academy really loves to put on a purple palette to us trainee sorcerers.

You should have seen the dorm from the Suite of Knights, it's practically oversaturated with blue. “

“ That sounds like a nightmare to live in. “

“ Well I don't see nothing wrong with the academy color coding us, as long as they mix it up a bit with different shades and more color variety “

“ I hope so.

There were some complaints, which the student body is working on to implement some color variety to our color schemes. “

“ Still there's so many doors in those entrances. Does the academy offer physical keys to your dorm room or do those doors use mana to open? “

“ It utilizes mana.

Once you pass, they will use the info of your mana from the Entrance Test and put it on one of the dorm rooms for you and your roommate to unlock. “

“ Damn, that's kinda expensive.

I thought that this was a free academy, what's funding all this? “

“ Monster Academy's in this kingdom usually get their funding straight from Polyurea, since the job market in this kingdom prioritizes Monster and Labyrinth specialists frequently. “

“ Ah… “

‘ That actually explains a lot, this kingdom is practically filled with a ton of labyrinths anyways- ‘

“ OUT OF THE WAY!!! “

“ Agh! “

Randell was shoved to the side as disheveled, almost manic frilled-neck lizard beastkin was hurriedly running down the stairs.

Amori wasn't exactly thrilled to see the frilled-neck lizard as he shouted.

“ JASPER WHAT GIVES!? “

“ Could you please not shout! Your voice is very irritating! “

“ At least apologize! “

“ Look I don't have time on this right now! “

The frilled-neck lizard beastkin named Jasper said while his neck frills slightly expanded, even becoming agitated as he turned around and walk down towards the entrance.

“ Weird…

Hey Randell, you wouldn't mind if we change our tour from my dorm to the colosseum would you? “

“ Wait, THIS academy has a colosseum? “

“ Yup, I just want to see what's going on.

Jasper's never like this unless his partner uses the colosseum whenever it's off limits “

“ Wouldn't that get you in trouble? “

“ Oh absolutely, so do you wanna? “

Randell thought about it for a moment while looking around the dorm, he wanted to explore the place he really does.

But he is a little intrigued by the academy’s colosseum, especially since it includes Jasper who pushed him so he agrees with a nod. Leading them to climb down the winding stairs.
