Standard Position

This is the most natural way of holding the pencil. This is how we hold any writing material when we started learning to write. This will probably be your go-to position whenever you start drawing. This position gives you a lot of control over your pencil strokes. This is what you will use for initial sketches and minor detailing. Most people only draw in this hand position, but as mention above, this will limit the variety you can apply to your drawings.
